Drone Strike Hits Iranian Kurdish Group’s Weapons Depot in Northern Iraq

A drone strike targeted a weapons depot at the headquarters of an Iranian Kurdish armed group in the city of Dekala in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region. Two fighters were injured in the attack, according to security sources. Al Jazeera reported the development.
Iran has long accused the authorities in Iraq’s Kurdish region of providing shelter to armed groups involved in attacks against the Iranian government. The country’s powerful force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has previously carried out multiple strikes targeting the bases of these groups.
In a report published this week, Reuters stated that in recent days Iranian Kurdish militias had consulted with the United States about whether to launch attacks against Iranian security forces in western Iran and, if so, how to carry them out.
