The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has decided to suspend the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) effective December 1 following a prolonged governance crisis within the national body.
As a result of the suspension, Indian riders, officials, trainers, and horses will be barred from participating in international equestrian competitions across the globe.
The global governing body’s decision comes after persistent governance issues that have plagued the Indian national federation, leaving its operational stability severely compromised.
The move marks a significant setback for the sport in India, impacting athletes and support personnel who rely on international competition circuits for ranking and development.
