Iran has “full control” over the Strait of Hormuz: IRGC

Desk Report: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) has stated that the country maintains “full control” over the Strait of Hormuz, a sea route that is critically important for global trade.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said he was preparing to deploy the U.S. Navy to escort tankers passing through the strategic waterway. Following that statement, the IRGC declared that it holds “complete control” over the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Mohammad Akbarzadeh, an official from the IRGC Navy, said, “At this moment, the naval forces of the Islamic Republic have full control over the Strait of Hormuz.”
The statement was reported by Iran’s Fars News Agency.
