Kuwait Revokes Citizenship of 12 Individuals Under Four Royal Decrees

Kuwait has revoked the citizenship of 12 individuals through four official decrees, according to orders published in the official gazette, Kuwait Al-Youm.

The decisions apply to the listed individuals as well as those who obtained Kuwaiti nationality as their dependents, where specified under the terms of the decrees.

The nationality revocation decrees were issued on October 11, 2026. The action was taken following a proposal by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah and subsequent approval by the Kuwaiti Cabinet.

According to the official decree, the Kuwaiti citizenship of Mubarak Muhammad Saad Oudan Al-Ajmi and Ata Mubarak Salem Al-Fadhli has been withdrawn. The revocation also extends to individuals who obtained nationality dependent on them.

Under a separate decree, the citizenship of several members of the Haji family was revoked, including Dheyab Muhammad Aswad Haji, Muhammad Dheyab Muhammad Aswad Haji, Hussain Dheyab Muhammad Aswad Haji, and Hassan Dheyab Muhammad Aswad Haji.

The decree further named Abdulsalam Dheyab Muhammad Aswad Haji, Zahra Dheyab Muhammad Aswad Haji, and Houriya Dheyab Muhammad Aswad Haji, with the ruling similarly applying to any individuals who acquired nationality through dependency on them.

Additional decrees confirmed the revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship for Faiqa Jassim Muhammad and Majid Rashid Abdulaziz Al-Madayan. The ruling for Majid Rashid Abdulaziz Al-Madayan likewise affects those who gained citizenship based on dependency.

Responsibility for implementing these decisions has been assigned to the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The rulings take effect from their date of issuance and are formally published in the official gazette.
