Rashed Khan, General Secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad, has claimed that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leaders held a meeting with Indian intelligence agencies and high-ranking government officials in a third country prior to the national election.
He made these comments in response to a recent remark by Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, who alleged that BNP was attempting to return in the form of the Awami League alongside India.
Addressing the Jamaat leader’s statement, Rashed Khan said that while Mia Golam Parwar accused BNP of collaborating with India, Jamaat itself had engaged in discussions with Indian officials abroad before the parliamentary election took place.
He further alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami maintains communication with India behind the scenes while taking an anti-India posture publicly to engage in political rhetoric.
Rashed Khan asserted that BNP, Jamaat, and Gono Odhikar Parishad had jointly struggled for seventeen years to dismantle fascist rule and secure democratic rights for the people of Bangladesh.
He expressed concern that division among pro-uprising political forces could jeopardize the national unity formed after the August 5 mass uprising and potentially pave the way for the return of fascism.
He urged all political parties to abandon the tendency to blame one another and called for unity to rebuild the country and preserve the gains of the movement.

A survivor has shared a harrowing account of the moments immediately preceding a catastrophic road collision in Natore that claimed multiple lives and left others severely injured.
Five local traders had journeyed to Taherpur in Rajshahi to purchase various agricultural commodities, including corn, onions, garlic, turmeric, and coriander, in an effort to sustain their livelihoods and small business ventures.
After completing their purchases, the group loaded their goods onto a pickup truck and began their journey back home. However, the return trip turned tragic when their vehicle was involved in a violent head-on collision with a passenger bus in Natore.
One of the surviving passengers described the harrowing scene, explaining that the crash occurred in a flash without any immediate warning, leaving those inside the small truck with virtually no time to react or brace for impact.
According to the survivor’s account, the force of the collision severely crushed the pickup truck, causing immediate fatal injuries to several occupants while pinning others inside the twisted metal wreckage.
Emergency services and local residents rushed to the scene shortly after hearing the loud crash to initiate rescue operations, extricating the victims and transporting the injured to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the exact cause of the collision and assess road safety measures in the area.

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) cameras and live monitors to track luggage delivery and curb irregularities, corruption, and handling complaints involving ground staff.
The newly installed AI-powered camera system is designed to identify various issues, including torn or broken luggage, workers throwing bags during unloading from aircraft, and the root causes behind delays in delivering baggage to conveyor belts.
Additional Secretary S M Lablur Rahman, Member (Administration) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), confirmed the deployment of the technology, noting that the equipment has been placed in sensitive arrival areas of the airport terminal building.
According to the official, a total of 32 AI cameras and 18 monitors have been set up in the baggage claim conveyor belt zones, which has already led to increased caution and improved work quality among ground handling staff.
CAAB emphasized that the step aims to elevate overall passenger service standards, strengthen luggage security, and ensure complete transparency and accountability across ground handling operations.
As part of the initiative, passengers can now visually track the movement of their luggage, while relevant ground crew members are required to wear body cameras during their shifts.
Airport sources stated that passengers can directly observe the step-by-step luggage handling process via the live monitors, which broadcast real-time footage of baggage being unloaded from planes, transported to designated areas, sorted, and delivered to the conveyor belts.
