The start times for the upcoming two-match Test series between Bangladesh and the West Indies have been brought forward. According to the revised schedule, the matches will now begin at 9:30 AM instead of the previously announced time of 10:00 AM.

The tour, which forms part of the ICC World Test Championship, will begin with the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on October 28. The second and final Test is scheduled to be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium starting November 5.

The West Indies team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on October 18 to begin their tour. Before entering the main Test series, the visitors will participate in a three-day warm-up match against a BCB XI from October 22 to 24 at Bashundhara, starting at 9:30 AM each day.

Following the warm-up fixture, both teams will travel to Mirpur for the opening Test match, which runs from October 28 to November 1. The action will then move to Sylhet for the second Test, set for November 5 to 9.

This series holds significant importance for Bangladesh in their pursuit of a spot in the World Test Championship final. A historic Test victory against Australia recently boosted the team’s prospects under captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.

While Bangladesh is also slated to play a Test match against Afghanistan, that fixture is not part of the World Test Championship cycle, making the series against the Caribbean side crucial for securing vital championship points.

Prior to the West Indies series, Bangladesh is set to take part in an ODI tri-series in the United Arab Emirates alongside Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. That tournament begins on October 17, featuring round-robin matches among the three teams, followed by the final on October 23.
