ব্রিটেনের একটি স্থানীয় প্রাণী উদ্ধার সংস্থায় অদ্ভুত এক ফোন আসে একবার। জানানো হয়, একটি কাঠবিড়ালি মাথায় কিছু একটা পরে পুরো এলাকায় ছুটে বেড়াচ্ছে। আর সেটিকে দেখে ভয় পাচ্ছেন আশপাশের মানুষ!

উদ্ধারকারীরা ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে সমস্যাটি বুঝতে পারেন। কাঠবিড়ালিটি একটি হ্যালোউইন মুখোশ খুঁজে পেয়েছিল। কোনোভাবে কাঠবিড়ালিটি একটি ছিদ্র দিয়ে মাথা ঢুকিয়ে ফেলেছিল, কিন্তু পরে আর বের করতে পারছিল না। ফলে মুখোশটি তার পুরো মাথা ঢেকে দেয়।

দূর থেকে দেখলে মনে হচ্ছিল, মানুষের আকারের ভয়ংকর একটি মুখ পরে ছোট্ট কোনো প্রাণী লন, বাগান আর গাছের মধ্যে ছুটে বেড়াচ্ছে!

কাঠবিড়ালিটিও তখন আতঙ্কিত। কেউ কাছে গেলেই দৌড়ে পালাচ্ছিল। কিন্তু মুখোশের কারণে ভালোভাবে দেখতে পারছিল না। কখনো কোনো কিছুর সঙ্গে ধাক্কা খাচ্ছিল, আবার হঠাৎ দিক বদলে ছুটছিল!

এই আচরণের কারণেই অনেকের কাছে মনে হচ্ছিল, কাঠবিড়ালিটি বুঝি তাদের তাড়া করছে। শেষ পর্যন্ত উদ্ধারকারীরা সেটিকে কোণঠাসা করতে সক্ষম হন। এরপর খুব সাবধানে ধরে রাবারের মুখোশটি মাথা থেকে খুলে দেন।

মুক্তি পাওয়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই কাঠবিড়ালিটি সেখান থেকে ছুটে পালায়। পরে উদ্ধারকারী সংস্থা ঘটনাটির ছবি অনলাইনে প্রকাশ করলে তা দ্রুত ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। অনেকেই প্রাণীটির নাম দেন ‘হ্যালোউইন স্কুইরেল’। কেউ বলেন, এটি ছিল বছরের সবচেয়ে ভয়ংকর দৃশ্য। আবার কারও মতে, আসলে এটি ছিল একটি কাঠবিড়ালির জীবনের সবচেয়ে খারাপ দিন।

Under the proposed approach, AI-generated information would not automatically be labelled “Verified,” “Confirmed,” or “Fact Checked.” Final editorial decisions would remain in human hands.

Verify: A Dedicated Space for Fact-Checking

An image, video, or claim can reach thousands of people online within moments. It can influence public opinion before anyone has established whether it is accurate.

To address this challenge, PothikTV plans to develop Verify, a dedicated system for fact-checking and information verification.

Users will be able to submit questionable content for review. Technology and AI may assist with preliminary analysis, while human editorial review is intended to remain a requirement before findings are published.

Learn: Opportunities to Build Skills

That is why Learn is being introduced as part of the PothikTV ecosystem.

The section is intended to host courses and training in journalism, technology, English, digital media, content creation, and other relevant subjects. Users will be able to choose learning opportunities that match their needs.

বৃহস্পতিবার ২৫ ডিসেম্বর সকালে কোস্ট গার্ড মিডিয়া কর্মকর্তা লেফটেন্যান্ট কমান্ডার সিয়াম-উল-হক এ তথ্য জানান। তিনি বলেন, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে গত ২৩ ডিসেম্বর মঙ্গলবার রাত ১১টায় কোস্ট গার্ড জাহাজ জয় বাংলা কর্তৃক সেন্টমার্টিনের ছেড়াদ্বীপ হতে দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব সংলগ্ন সমুদ্র এলাকায় একটি বিশেষ অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়। অভিযান চলাকালীন উক্ত এলাকায় সন্দেহজনক ২টি ফিশিং বোট তল্লাশি করে অবৈধভাবে শুল্ক-কর ফাঁকি দিয়ে মায়ানমারে পাচারের উদ্দেশ্যে বহনকৃত প্রায় ১০ লক্ষ ৭৪ হাজার টাকা মূল্যের ১৩০০ বস্তা সিমেন্ট ও ৭ হাজার ২০০ প্যাকেট মশার কয়েলসহ ২২ জন পাচারকারীকে আটক করা হয়।

জব্দকৃত মালামাল, পাচারকাজে ব্যবহৃত বোট ও আটককৃত ব্যক্তিদের পরবর্তী আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের কার্যক্রম প্রক্রিয়াধীন রয়েছে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, পাচার ও চোরাচালান রোধে কোস্ট গার্ড ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের অভিযান অব্যাহত রাখবে।

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman spoke over the mobile phone with Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus immediately after returning to the country following a long absence. The special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG–202) carrying him landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11:36 am on Thursday (December 25).

After disembarking from the aircraft, Tarique Rahman entered the airport’s VIP lounge, where he was received by members of the BNP Standing Committee. Later, in a separate room of the lounge, he was welcomed with a garland of rose flowers by his mother-in-law, Syeda Iqbal Mand Banū. He also exchanged greetings with other family members present there.

While staying at the VIP lounge, Tarique Rahman spoke with the Chief Adviser over the phone. During the conversation, he inquired about the Chief Adviser’s health and expressed his gratitude for ensuring comprehensive security arrangements on the occasion of his return to Bangladesh.

আততায়ীর গুলিতে নিহত ইনকিলাব মঞ্চের মুখপাত্র শরিফ ওসমান হাদিকে ‘গিনিপিগ’ বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন বিএনপির স্বনির্ভরবিষয়ক সম্পাদক ও সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য নিলুফার চৌধুরী মনি। তার এই বক্তব্য ঘিরে সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে তীব্র প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখা দিয়েছে। শহীদ ওসমান হাদিকে নিয়ে এমন মন্তব্যের জন্য মনির কাছে প্রকাশ্যে ক্ষমা চাওয়ার দাবি জানাচ্ছেন অনেকে।

মঙ্গলবার (২৩ ডিসেম্বর) রাতে আব্দুন নূর তুষারের সঞ্চালনায় ‘চলে যাওয়া মানে প্রস্থান নয়’ শীর্ষক চ্যানেল নাইন আয়োজিত বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান ‘নাইন সংলাপে’ অংশ নিয়ে নিলুফার চৌধুরী মনি বলেন, ‘হাদিকে আমার কাছে এই মুহূর্তে একটা বেশ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ গিনিপিগ ছাড়া আর কিছুই মনে হয় নাই। আপনারা যারা ডাক্তার, এখানে অনেকে আছেন, আপনারা তেলাপোকা কাটতেন, সেলাই-টেলাই করে ছেড়ে দিতেন—চলত। বাট হাদি হয়তো চলতে পারে নাই।’

এ সময় সঞ্চালক আব্দুন নূর তুষার আলোচকদের উদ্দেশে হাদিকে নিয়ে কোনো আপত্তিকর বক্তব্য না দেওয়ার অনুরোধ জানান। একপর্যায়ে তিনি নিলুফার চৌধুরী মনির বক্তব্যের প্রসঙ্গ টেনে প্রশ্ন রাখেন—কেউ কি ওসমান হাদিকে ব্যবহার করে কোনো উদ্দেশ্য হাসিলের চেষ্টা করেছে বলে তিনি মনে করেন?

জবাবে মনি বলেন, ‘হ্যাঁ, অবশ্যই। এটা বলার কোনো অপেক্ষাই রাখে না। যদি এটা না হতো, হাদির দলের কয়টা লোক ছিল বা আছে বলেন? আমি তাঁকে ছোট করে বলছি না, আমি তার দলটাকে বলছি। এত মানুষ সারা দেশ থেকে এলো বা আনা হলো—এটার মধ্যে বড় একটা প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্ন আছে। এই প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্নটা নির্বাচনকে বানচাল করার চেষ্টা করছে।’

অনুষ্ঠানেই মনির বক্তব্যের প্রতিবাদ জানান জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টির (এনসিপি) যুগ্ম সদস্যসচিব অ্যাডভোকেট হুমায়রা নূর। তিনি বলেন, ‘হাদি কোনো নিবন্ধিত রাজনৈতিক দলের নেতা ছিলেন না। ইনকিলাব মঞ্চও কোনো নিবন্ধিত রাজনৈতিক দল নয়, এটি একটি সামাজিক সংগঠন। তিনি সমাজের দুর্নীতি, অপতৎপরতা ও গণতন্ত্রবিরোধী কার্যক্রমের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করেছেন।’

হুমায়রা নূর বলেন, ‘হাদির জানাজার উপস্থিতি নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তোলা কষ্টদায়ক। যারা জানাজায় এসেছিলেন, তারা কোনো রাজনৈতিক দলের ডাকে আসেননি। তারা এসেছিলেন একজন মানুষ ওসমান হাদির জন্য।’

এই সংলাপে আরও অংশ নেন এনডিএমের চেয়ারম্যান ববি হাজ্জাজ, জামায়াতে ইসলামীর ঢাকা মহানগর দক্ষিণের সহকারী সেক্রেটারি মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল মান্নান, নির্বাচন ব্যবস্থা সংস্কার কমিশনের সদস্য ডা. জাহেদ উর রহমান এবং সিপিবির কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সদস্য ডা. সাজেদুল হক রুবেল।

এদিকে মনির বক্তব্যের সমালোচনা করে সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে একাধিক রাজনৈতিক ও নাগরিক সংগঠনের নেতারা প্রতিক্রিয়া জানিয়েছেন। এনসিপির যুগ্ম সদস্যসচিব জয়নাল আবেদিন শিশির ফেসবুকে লেখেন, শহীদ ওসমান হাদিকে নিয়ে এমন মন্তব্য ‘অমর্যাদাকর’ এবং তিনি এ বক্তব্য প্রত্যাহার করে ক্ষমা চাওয়ার দাবি জানান।

দীর্ঘ ১৭ বছর পর বৃহস্পতিবার (২৫ ডিসেম্বর) দেশে ফিরছেন বিএনপির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমান। তার স্বদেশ প্রত্যাবর্তনকে ঘিরে রাজধানীর হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর থেকে গুলশানের বাসভবন পর্যন্ত সর্বোচ্চ নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করেছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী। এই নিরাপত্তা কার্যক্রম কেন্দ্রীয়ভাবে ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) সদরদপ্তর থেকে তদারকি করা হবে।

আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী ও গোয়েন্দা সূত্র জানায়, তারেক রহমানের বাসভবন, অফিস এলাকা এবং চলাচলের পুরো পথজুড়ে কঠোর নিরাপত্তা পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে। ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ সড়ক ও এলাকাগুলোতে অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে এবং প্রয়োজনে আরও সদস্য নামানোর প্রস্তুতিও রাখা হয়েছে। তারেক রহমানের চলাচলের সময় প্রতিটি ধাপ কঠোরভাবে নিয়ন্ত্রণে থাকবে। এ কার্যক্রম ডিএমপি সদরদপ্তর থেকেই সরাসরি তদারকি করা হবে।

গোয়েন্দা সূত্রে জানা যায়, তারেক রহমানের দেশে ফেরা নিয়ে ইতোমধ্যে স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে একাধিক উচ্চপর্যায়ের বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। এসব বৈঠকের একটিতে নেতৃত্ব দেন স্বরাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা নিজেই। বৈঠকে পুলিশের মহাপরিদর্শক (আইজিপি), বিভিন্ন গোয়েন্দা সংস্থার প্রধানসহ সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। সেখানে সম্ভাব্য নিরাপত্তা ঝুঁকি পর্যালোচনা করে সে অনুযায়ী কঠোর নিরাপত্তা পরিকল্পনা চূড়ান্ত করা হয়। পরবর্তীতে মাঠপর্যায়ের কর্মকর্তাদের কাছে এ সংক্রান্ত নির্দেশনাও পাঠানো হয়েছে।

জানা গেছে, বিশেষ ব্যক্তি হিসেবে তারেক রহমানের নিরাপত্তায় ডিএমপি প্রয়োজনীয় সব ব্যবস্থা নিলেও সার্বিক নিরাপত্তার মূল দায়িত্বে থাকছে বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন সিকিউরিটি ফোর্স (সিএসএফ)। পুলিশ ও বিএনপির বিভিন্ন স্তরের নেতাকর্মীদের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় করে সিএসএফ নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে কাজ করছে।

আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী সূত্র জানায়, তারেক রহমানের স্বদেশ প্রত্যাবর্তনকে কেন্দ্র করে মঙ্গলবার (২৩ ডিসেম্বর) মধ্যরাত থেকেই পুলিশের পাহারা শুরু হয়েছে। গোয়েন্দা পুলিশ, সাদা পোশাকধারী ও পোশাকধারী পুলিশসহ আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর সদস্যরা বিভিন্ন স্তরে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন। ২৫ ডিসেম্বর তারেক রহমান দেশে ফেরার দিন হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর থেকে থ্রি হান্ড্রেড ফিট, এভারকেয়ার হাসপাতাল হয়ে গুলশান অ্যাভিনিউ পর্যন্ত পুলিশ ও বিভিন্ন সংস্থার কয়েক হাজার সদস্য মোতায়েন থাকবে।

গোয়েন্দা সূত্র অনুযায়ী, বিমানবন্দর থেকে গুলশান পর্যন্ত প্রতিটি থানা এলাকায় পুলিশি নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা হবে। পুলিশের ‘স্পেশাল স্কট’ ইউনিটও দায়িত্ব পালন করবে। পাশাপাশি মোড়ে মোড়ে পুলিশি চেকপোস্ট বসানো হয়েছে। বর্তমানে গুলশান, বনানী ও বারিধারা এলাকায় অন্তত নয়টি চেকপোস্টে ২৪ ঘণ্টা দেড় শতাধিক পুলিশ সদস্য দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন। তারেক রহমান দেশে ফেরার পর গুলশান এলাকায় আরও অন্তত তিনটি চেকপোস্ট বাড়তে পারে। তার বাসা ও আশপাশের এলাকায় প্রতিদিন দেড় শতাধিক পুলিশ ও গোয়েন্দা সংস্থার সদস্য মোতায়েন থাকবেন। প্রয়োজনে বাসভবন থেকে যাতায়াতের সময় তিন শতাধিক সদস্য নিরাপত্তায় যুক্ত থাকবেন।

ডিএমপির উত্তরা বিভাগের উপ-পুলিশ কমিশনার মো. শাহরিয়ার আলী বলেন, তারেক রহমানের নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা ডিএমপি সদরদপ্তর থেকে সরাসরি তদারকি করা হবে। কোনো একটি নির্দিষ্ট বিভাগ নয়, দায়িত্ব ভাগ করে নিয়ে ডিএমপির বিভিন্ন ইউনিট এই নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করবে। ইতোমধ্যে নিরাপত্তা কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়েছে।

বিএনপি সূত্রে জানা যায়, গুলশান অ্যাভিনিউয়ের ১৯৬ নম্বর বাসায় উঠবেন তারেক রহমান। বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন খালেদা জিয়ার বাসভবন ‘ফিরোজা’র পাশেই এই বাড়িটি অবস্থিত। বাসাটি প্রায় প্রস্তুত থাকলেও কোনো কারণে পুরোপুরি প্রস্তুত না হলে তিনি আপাতত মায়ের বাসা ফিরোজায় উঠবেন। দেশে ফেরার পর গুলশানের ৮৬ নম্বর রোডে অবস্থিত বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসনের কার্যালয় থেকেই তিনি দলীয় কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করবেন।

ডিএমপির গুলশান বিভাগ সূত্র জানায়, ফিরোজা ও তারেক রহমানের বাসভবন পাশাপাশি হওয়ায় বাসা ও অফিসকে একই নিরাপত্তা পরিকল্পনার আওতায় আনা হয়েছে। বিশেষ করে বাসা ও অফিসের মধ্যকার দূরত্ব ও চলাচলের পথকে নিরাপত্তা পরিকল্পনায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিবেচনায় নেওয়া হয়েছে। গুলশান বিভাগের উপ-পুলিশ কমিশনার রওনক আলম বলেন, পুলিশ সদরদপ্তরের নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ী কেন্দ্রীয়ভাবে নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা পরিচালিত হবে।

গোয়েন্দা সূত্রে জানা যায়, ডিসেম্বরের প্রথম সপ্তাহেই দেশে ফেরার পরিকল্পনা ছিল তারেক রহমানের। তবে সে সময় নিরাপত্তাজনিত কারণে মাঠপর্যায়ের প্রস্তুতি সম্পূর্ণ না হওয়ায় পরিকল্পনাটি স্থগিত করা হয়।

স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয় সূত্র জানায়, রাজধানীর নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে প্রতিদিন গড়ে সাড়ে পাঁচশ অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ মোতায়েন থাকে, যা সামনে আরও বাড়তে পারে। এদিকে গুরুতর অসুস্থ অবস্থায় বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন খালেদা জিয়া বর্তমানে এভারকেয়ার হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছেন এবং তার নিরাপত্তায় স্পেশাল সিকিউরিটি ফোর্স (এসএসএফ) দায়িত্ব পালন করছে। কোনো কারণে তারেক রহমান ফিরোজায় উঠলে, খালেদা জিয়া বাসায় অবস্থান করলে তার নিরাপত্তার আওতায় তারেক রহমানও আসতে পারেন। সেক্ষেত্রে এসএসএফ, সিএসএফ ও পুলিশের সমন্বয়ে নিরাপত্তা কাঠামো আরও জোরদার হবে।

বিএনপি সূত্রে আরও জানা যায়, তারেক রহমান বিমান বাংলাদেশ এয়ারলাইন্সের একটি ফ্লাইটে ২৫ ডিসেম্বর বেলা ১১টা ৫৫ মিনিটে ঢাকার হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে অবতরণের কথা রয়েছে। দেশে ফেরার জন্য তিনি ট্রাভেল পাস পেয়েছেন এবং টিকিটও কাটা হয়েছে। তার প্রত্যাবর্তনকে কেন্দ্র করে বিএনপি দেশজুড়ে ব্যাপক প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে।

এদিকে তারেক রহমানের আগমন উপলক্ষে বুধবার (২৪ ডিসেম্বর) সন্ধ্যা ৬টা থেকে পরবর্তী ২৪ ঘণ্টার জন্য হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে যাত্রী ছাড়া সব ধরনের সহযাত্রী ও দর্শনার্থীদের প্রবেশে নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ করা হয়েছে। বিমানবন্দরের নির্বাহী পরিচালক গ্রুপ ক্যাপ্টেন এস এম রাগিব সামাদের পাঠানো এক বার্তায় জানানো হয়, যাত্রীসেবা, নিরাপত্তা ও অপারেশনাল শৃঙ্খলা বজায় রাখতে বিশেষ নিরাপত্তাজনিত কারণে এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। উল্লিখিত সময়ের মধ্যে শুধু বৈধ টিকিটধারী যাত্রীরাই বিমানবন্দর এলাকায় প্রবেশ করতে পারবেন।

A protest erupted outside the Bangladesh High Commission in India’s capital, New Delhi, as activists of Hindu nationalist organizations Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal gathered and demonstrated. Police resorted to baton charges to disperse the protesters after they attempted to break through barricades and enter the High Commission premises.

The protest began on Tuesday (December 23), with more than a hundred people assembling in front of the High Commission. According to Indian media outlet NDTV, the situation turned tense after the protesters breached police barricades. However, additional police and security personnel were deployed promptly and managed to bring the situation under control.

Authorities enforced a three-tier security arrangement around the Bangladesh High Commission. Alongside local police, paramilitary forces were also deployed to ensure the safety of the diplomatic mission.

The protesters reportedly expressed anger over the killing of a youth named Dipu Das in Bhaluka of Mymensingh district in Bangladesh, citing the incident as the main reason behind their demonstration.

Meanwhile, amid growing concerns over the security of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again summoned Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma. On Tuesday at around 9:40 am, Verma visited the office of Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam and left after approximately five minutes.

Earlier, on December 14, the Indian High Commissioner had also been summoned, when Bangladesh conveyed its concerns over remarks made by ousted Indian Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and sought cooperation regarding several attackers who had reportedly fled to India.

Diplomatic sources in Dhaka said the Indian High Commissioner was clearly informed about Bangladesh’s concerns regarding the safety and security of Bangladeshi diplomats and missions in New Delhi, Kolkata, and other parts of India.

যা শুরু হয়েছিল আন্তর্জাতিক ফুটবল উৎসব হিসেবে, তা পরিণত হয়েছে এক বিতর্কিত কাণ্ডে। লাতিন-বাংলা সুপার কাপের আর্জেন্টিনার অ্যাতলেটিকো চার্লোন দলের নামে খেলতে আসা আর্জেন্টাইনরা অবশেষে ঢাকা ত্যাগ করেছে। কয়েক ভাগে তারা দেশে ফিরলেন। একটা অংশ আগেই ফিরেছে। শেষ অংশ গতকাল ফিরেছে। জানা গেছে ১৮ ফুটবলার গতকাল দুপুরে ফিরে গেছেন দেশে। তবে তারা দেশে গেলেও রয়ে গেছে টুর্নামেন্ট চলাকালীন এবং পরবর্তী সময়ে ঘটে যাওয়া অনিয়ম, বকেয়া বিল এবং আর্থিক সমাধান হয়নি এখনো।

অ্যাতলেটিকো চার্লোন ১৩ ডিসেম্বর দেশে ফেরার কথা ছিল। তবে টিকিট ও হোটেল বিল পরিশোধ না হওয়ায় তাদের দীর্ঘদিন হোটেলে থাকতে হয়েছে। রোববার দুপুর ১টার দিকে আর্জেন্টিনার দল হোটেল থেকে বিমানবন্দরে পৌঁছায় এবং ভিআইপি গেট দিয়ে প্রবেশ করে। বোর্ডিং শেষ করার পর কোচ হার্নান ওজেদা মিডিয়ার সামনে কথা বলেন। বোঝা যাচ্ছিল তারা বলতে রাজি না। সব কথা বলতেও চাইছেন। কারণ বাংলাদেশে এসে যে অভিজ্ঞতা হয়েছে, তারা তাদের জীবনে এমন অভিজ্ঞতার কথা শোনেননি। আর নিজেরাও এমন অভিজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে পরিচিত নন। তার পরও স্বস্তির কথাই শোনালেন, 'বাংলাদেশে এসে আমরা খুবই স্বস্তি অনুভব করেছি। এখানে আমাদের ভালোভাবে গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। দুঃখজনক যে টুর্নামেন্ট শেষ করা সম্ভব হয়নি। আশা করি ভবিষ্যতে আবার আসব।'

সবকিছু ঠিকঠাক মতো হয়েছে; কারণ আর্জেন্টিনার দূতাবাস থেকে উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছিল। তারা তাদের খেলোয়াড়দেরকে নিরাপদে দেশে ফিরে যাওয়ার উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেন। আর্জেন্টিনার দল চলে গেলেও বিতর্ক থামেনি। বকেয়া বিল, ব্যবসায়িক ক্ষতি এবং আয়োজকদের দায়িত্বহীনতার কারণে এই টুর্নামেন্ট আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে বাংলাদেশের ফুটবল আয়োজক হিসেবে লজ্জার মুখে ফেলেছে।

লাতিন বাংলা টুর্নামেন্টের ট্রাভেল পার্টনার সংবাদমাধ্যমকে জানিয়েছে তাদের বকেয়া আড়াই কোটি টাকার ওপর। আয়োজক আসাদুজ্জামানের সহকারীরা সংবাদমাধ্যমকে জানিয়েছেন তারা সম্পদ বিক্রি করে বকেয়া শোধ করছেন। 'এখন আমাদের অবস্থা খুবই খারাপ। ব্যবসা বন্ধ। দেউলিয়া হওয়ার উপক্রম। ট্রাভেল প্রতিষ্ঠানের সোহরাব হোসেন সংবাদমাধ্যমকে ২ কোটি ৭০ লাখ টাকার মধ্যে ৮ লাখ টাকা পেয়েছেন। তিনি জানান ব্রাজিলীয় ক্লাব দ্রুত দেশে ফিরে যেতে পেরেছে কারণ তারা ব্রাজিল ফুটবল ফেডারেশনের নজরে ছিল এবং তাদের জন্য আগেভাগে বিমানের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছিল।

কিন্তু আর্জেন্টিনার ক্লাবটি কম পরিচিত হওয়ায় কোনো ফেডারেশন সমর্থন না থাকায় দীর্ঘদিন বাংলাদেশে অপেক্ষা করতে হয়েছিল। ব্রাজিলের ক্লাব ইতিমধ্যেই জানিয়েছে, তারা ভবিষ্যতে বাংলাদেশে আসার আগে 'দুবার ভাববে'।

শাহ্ পারভেজ সংগ্রাম গাইবান্ধা: ৮ দফা দাবিতে গাইবান্ধা কৃষি প্রশিক্ষণ ইনস্টিটিউটের (এটিআই) শিক্ষার্থীরা সকল প্রকার ক্লাস-পরীক্ষা বর্জন করে বিক্ষোভ ও সড়ক অবরোধ কর্মসূচি পালন করেছে। সোমবার সকালে শিক্ষার্থীরা গাইবান্ধা কৃষি প্রশিক্ষণ ইনস্টিটিউটের প্রধান ফটকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়ে গাইবান্ধা-সাঘাটা আঞ্চলিক মহাসড়কে অবস্থান নিয়ে যান চলাচল সম্পূর্ণ বন্ধ করে দেয়।

অবরোধ চলাকালীন সড়কের দুই পাশে শত শত যানবাহন আটকে পড়ে দীর্ঘ যানজটের সৃষ্টি হয়, যার ফলে সাধারণ যাত্রী ও চালকদের চরম ভোগান্তি পোহাতে হয়। শিক্ষার্থীরা বিভিন্ন প্লাকার্ড হাতে নিয়ে স্লোগানে স্লোগানে রাজপথ কাঁপিয়ে তোলেন এবং স্পষ্ট জানিয়ে দেন যে, যতক্ষণ না পর্যন্ত সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ থেকে সুনির্দিষ্ট ও কার্যকর আশ্বাস পাওয়া যাচ্ছে, ততক্ষণ তারা এই শাটডাউন কর্মসূচি থেকে সরবেন না। খবর পেয়ে স্থানীয় পুলিশ প্রশাসন ও সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তারা ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত হয়ে শিক্ষার্থীদের সাথে আলোচনার চেষ্টা চালান। পরে সহকারি কমিশনার (ভূমি) জাহাঙ্গীর আলম বাবু শিক্ষার্থীদের সড়ক অবরোধ থেকে তুলে নিয়ে ক্যাম্পাসের ভিতরে আলোচনা করে।

আন্দোলনরত শিক্ষার্থীদের অভিযোগ, দীর্ঘদিন ধরে তারা কারিগরি শিক্ষা ক্ষেত্রে নানাবিধ বৈষম্যের শিকার এবং তাদের ন্যায্য দাবিগুলো বারবার উপেক্ষা করা হচ্ছে।কৃষি ডিপ্লোমার শিক্ষার্থীরা ৯ মাস থেকে আমাদের ৮ দফা দাবি নিয়ে আন্দোলন করে যাচ্ছে।তাদের দাবি না মানা হলে এরপরে তারা কঠোর কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করবে বলে জানায়।

লুৎফর সিকদার গোপালগঞ্জ:আগামী ১৬ জানুয়ারি (শুক্রবার) রাতে দেশে পবিত্র শবে মেরাজ পালিত হবে। গতকাল রোববার (২১ ডিসেম্বর) সন্ধ্যায় বায়তুল মোকাররমে ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের কার্যালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত এক সভায় জাতীয় চাঁদ দেখা কমিটি এ সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়। ধর্ম বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা এ এফ এম খালিদ হোসেন এ সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন।

সভা শেষে জানানো হয়, বাংলাদেশে রোববার ১৪৪৭ হিজরি সনের পবিত্র রজব মাসের চাঁদ দেখা গেছে। তাই সোমবার (২২ ডিসেম্বর) থেকে পবিত্র রজব মাস শুরু। সেই হিসাবে আগামী ১৬ জানুয়ারি (শুক্রবার) রাতে সারা দেশে পবিত্র শবে মেরাজ পালিত হবে।

প্রতি হিজরি সনের ২৬ রজব রাতে মুসলমানরা শবে মেরাজ পালন করে। এ রাতে মহানবী হযরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.) ঊর্ধ্বাকাশে ভ্রমণ করে আল্লাহর সাক্ষাৎ লাভ করেছিলেন। এ রাতে মুসলমানরা নফল নামাজ আদায়, জিকির, তাসবিহ পড়া ও পবিত্র কোরআন তিলাওয়াত এবং গরিব-দুঃখীকে অর্থ দান করে থাকেন। কেউ কেউ এ দিবস উপলক্ষে নফল রোজা রাখেন।

শবে মেরাজে শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধ এবং সরকারি অফিসে ঐচ্ছিক ছুটি থাকে। তবে এবার শবে মেরাজ পালিত হবে শুক্রবার, সাপ্তাহিক ছুটির দিনে।
