In response to developments surrounding potential peace discussions, President Trump stated on his social media platform, Truth Social, that he does not want to take any steps that could push Russia away from the peace negotiation table.
Trump emphasized that he remains continuously engaged in diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the deadly war between Russia and Ukraine and establishing peace in the region.
The US President clarified that decisions regarding the removal of sanctions and tariffs on Russian exports are part of a deliberate effort to keep Russia engaged in dialogue and ensure the continuation of talks.
Trump described his policy and approach regarding Russia as extremely simple and clear, maintaining that keeping channels of communication open remains a priority.
Furthermore, Trump claimed that significant progress is now being observed in the peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. He noted that these ongoing discussions also encompass matters related to the release of prisoners of war and hostages.
