Swara Bhasker Demands Arrest of Netanyahu, Stands Firm in Support of Gaza

Entertainment & International Desk: Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has once again found herself at the center of controversy for vocally supporting Palestine. Despite facing backlash from a section of Indian netizens, she remains unwavering in her stance. Most recently, Swara went a step further—calling for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The demand came in response to rising tensions following a U.S. strike in Iran. British MP Claudia Webbe had posted on social media:
“World War III? Israel is the biggest threat to global peace. Netanyahu must be arrested immediately.”
Swara Bhasker shared the post in agreement on her own social media, sparking both support and criticism.
Earlier, the actress had actively promoted a solidarity gathering for Gaza held at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan. Sharing the event poster online, Swara urged the people of Mumbai to attend, writing:
“People of Mumbai, show up for Palestine on June 18.”
The event is being organized by several left-wing and socialist parties including CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), RSP, and the Samajwadi Party. The rally is intended to protest Israeli attacks on Gaza and express solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Swara’s activism has drawn fire from nationalist groups and conservative voices in India. Her public endorsement of the Azad Maidan rally led to waves of online trolling and criticism. However, she continues to raise her voice boldly against Israeli aggression, undeterred by the backlash.
Through her consistent advocacy, Swara Bhasker makes it clear that, for her, the cause of humanity and justice transcends political pressure and public opinion.
