আয়ারল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে এটিই বাংলাদেশের প্রথম টেস্ট সিরিজ। এর আগে ২০২৩ সালের এপ্রিলে দুদল একবার মুখোমুখি হয়েছিল টেস্টে। মিরপুরে সেই ম্যাচে জয়ের হাসি হেসেছিল বাংলাদেশ।

এশিয়া কাপের হতাশা ভুলে দারুণভাবে ঘুরে দাঁড়িয়েছে বাংলাদেশ। আফগানিস্তানের বিপক্ষে তিন ম্যাচ টি-টোয়েন্টি সিরিজ ইতোমধ্যে জিতেছে। তৃতীয় ও শেষ টি-টোয়েন্টিতে আজ রোববার (৫ অক্টোবর) মুখোমুখি হবে দুদল। শারজাহ ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়ামে ম্যাচটি শুরু হবে বাংলাদেশ সময় রাত সাড়ে ৮টায়।

প্রথম দুই ম্যাচেই পরিস্থিতি কঠিন করে জিতেছে বাংলাদেশ। যেখানে অনায়াসে জয় পাওয়া যেত, সেখান থেকে দুই ম্যাচেই চেপে বসেছিল হারের শঙ্কা। বোলাররা প্রতিনিয়ত ভালো করলেও, ব্যাটাররা দিতে পারছেন না আস্থার প্রতিদান। উইকেট পড়া শুরু হলে আসা-যাওয়ার মিছিলে যোগ দেওয়ার পুরোনো বদঅভ্যাস এখনও সঙ্গী বাংলাদেশের।

বাংলাদেশ অধিনায়ক জাকের আলী অনিক অবশ্য খুশি। দল হিসেবে বাংলাদেশ ভালো করছে বলেই মনে করেন তিনি। পিচের সুবিধা বোলাররা ভালোভাবে লাগিয়েছেন বলেও জানান।

জাকেরের মতে, ‘ভালো লাগছে। গত দুই ম্যাচে দল হিসেবে আমরা সত্যিই দারুণ করেছি। বোলাররা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে এনে দিয়েছে। প্রথম ম্যাচের চেয়ে দ্বিতীয় ম্যাচে আরও ভালো মনে হয়েছে। আমরা ইতিবাচক আছি।’

আফগান অধিনায়ক রশিদ খান বলেন, ‘আমরা কী চাই, তা মাঠে বাস্তবায়ন করছি। ম্যাচগুলোতে কিছু রান কম হয়েছে। বোলাররা ভালো করছে। আমাদের ইতিবাচক মানসিকতা আছে। সামনে নজর রাখছি সবাই।’

৪ অক্টোবর শনিবার সকাল ১০টায় ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার মধ্য পাইকপাড়া চামেলীবাগ জামে মসজিদের প্রাঙ্গণে এক বর্ণাঢ্য আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন ও দোয়া মাহফিল।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান মেহমান হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জামিয়া ইউনুসিয়া ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার প্রিন্সিপাল ও ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া হেফাজতে ইসলামের সভাপতি আল্লামা আলহাজ্ব হযরত মাওলানা মুফতি মোবারক উল্লাহ।

তিনি তাঁর বক্তব্যে বলেন, “একটি মসজিদ কেবল নামাজের স্থান নয়, বরং এটি ঈমানি চেতনার কেন্দ্রবিন্দু। এ মসজিদকে কেন্দ্র করে এলাকার মানুষ ঐক্যবদ্ধ হবে, দ্বীন ও ইসলামের শিক্ষা ছড়িয়ে পড়বে। আমি দোয়া করি এ মসজিদ যেন দীর্ঘদিন দ্বীনের খেদমত করতে পারে।”

অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন কেন্দ্রীয় বিএনপির অর্থনৈতিক বিষয়ক সম্পাদক ও ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া জেলা বিএনপির সভাপতি ইঞ্জিনিয়ার খালেদ হোসেন মাহবুব শ্যামল।

তিনি তাঁর বক্তব্যে বলেন, “মসজিদ নির্মাণের মতো কল্যাণকর কাজে সম্পৃক্ত হতে পারা জীবনের বড় অর্জন। এ মসজিদ এলাকাবাসীর জন্য ইবাদত, শিক্ষা ও সামাজিক সম্প্রীতির কেন্দ্র হয়ে উঠবে। এ কাজকে সফল করার জন্য সবার সহযোগিতা প্রয়োজন।”

অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন মধ্য পাইকপাড়া চামেলীবাগ জামে মসজিদের সভাপতি মোঃ মোজাম্মেল হক এবং সঞ্চালনা করেন সাধারণ সম্পাদক রাশেদ কবির আখন্দ।

এ সময় বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলা বিএনপির সাধারণ সম্পাদক আলহাজ্ব সিরাজুল ইসলাম সিরাজ, সিনিয়র সহ-সভাপতি ডিপি জহির হক খোকন, জেলা বিএনপির ১ নং সদস্য হাফিজুর রহমান মোল্লা কচি ও সিনিয়র আইনজীবী এডভোকেট আবিদ উল্লাহ।

শেষে দোয়া মাহফিলে জাতির শান্তি, দেশের অগ্রগতি, মুসলিম উম্মাহর ঐক্য এবং মসজিদের সুষ্ঠু ও সুন্দর নির্মাণকাজের সফলতা কামনা করা হয়। দোয়া পরিচালনা করেন হযরত মাওলানা মুফতি মোবারক উল্লাহ।

পুরো অনুষ্ঠান জুড়ে উপস্থিত ছিলেন এলাকাবাসী, বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক ও সামাজিক সংগঠনের নেতৃবৃন্দসহ অসংখ্য ধর্মপ্রাণ মুসল্লি।

উপস্থিত সবাই একমত হন যে, এ মসজিদ ভবিষ্যতে এলাকার ধর্মীয়, শিক্ষা ও সামাজিক কর্মকাণ্ডে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।

হবিগঞ্জের মাধবপুর উপজেলার মাইক্রোবাস চালক সমবায় সমিতির সদস্য আন্নর আলী কে নৃশংসভাবে পিটিয়ে আহত করার ঘটনায় মামলার আসামীদের দ্রুত গ্রেফতার ও বিচারের দাবিতে মানববন্ধন করা হয়েছে।

শনিবার দুপুরে মাইক্রোবাস চালক সমবায় সমিতির উদ্যাগে ঢাকা সিলেট মহাসড়কের মাধবপুর উপজেলা পরিষদের সামনে মানববন্ধন অনুষ্টিত হয়।

মাইক্রোবাস চালক সমবায় সমিতির সভাপতি মোহন মিয়ার সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্টিত প্রতিবাদ সভায় বক্তব্য রাখেন মাসুম মিয়া, আহত আন্নর আলীর ভাই মন্নর আলী।

এই সময় বক্তারা বলেন,  আন্নর আলী হাসপাতালে মৃত্যুর সঙ্গে পান্জা লড়ছে। আন্নর আলীর উপর হামলার ঘটনায় যারা জড়িত তাদের দ্রুত গ্রেফতার ও বিচারের দাবি করেন বক্তারা।
