ঘুম ভাঙে না কারো। সকালের আলোয় যে আলো নেই, তার নাম সকাল নয়। মানুষের চোখ খোলে, কিন্তু চেতনা নিদ্রিত।

বিশ্ব যেন এক বিস্মৃত স্বপ্ন। প্রতিটি মানুষ এক একখণ্ড ভাসমান ছায়া, ছায়ার নিচে আবার ছায়া। মুখে মুখোশ, হাসিতে কৃত্রিম রঙ, চোখে পলিথিনের অন্ধকার। এমন এক সময়ে, যখন আকাশে রংধনু নেই, নদীর স্রোতে শব্দ নেই, প্রেমে উৎসার নেই—তখন হঠাৎ কোনো এক নিস্তব্ধ বিকেলে, এক পলক আলো এসে দাঁড়ায় মনের কপাটে।

এ আলো চোখের আলো নয়, হৃদয়ের মণিকোঠায় এক স্ফুলিঙ্গ। একে বলে তৃতীয় নয়ন। অদৃশ্য এক জানালা, যা দিয়ে দেখা যায় অদেখা দৃশ্যপট। যেখানে ফুল কথা বলে, পাখি গান গায় না, বরং প্রশ্ন তোলে। গাছ হাঁটে, নক্ষত্র ভিজে যায় জলকণিকায়।

এই তৃতীয় নয়ন জন্ম নেয় না হঠাৎ, যেমন জন্ম নেয় না সত্য কিংবা প্রেম। সে তো জেগে ওঠে ধ্বংসের গর্ভে, আঘাতের শিখরে, আত্মার অভ্যন্তরে এক দীর্ঘ বিস্মরণ শেষে। এই নয়ন খুললে দেখা যায়—
নদীর কুলে এক বালক বসে, তার শরীর জলের, চুল ঘাসের, চোখ আগুনের। সে তাকিয়ে থাকে সমাজ নামক কংক্রিটে বাঁধানো জেলখানার দিকে, যেন বলতে চায়—
“মানুষ হও, মানুষ হও!”

মানুষ এখন বিজ্ঞানের বন্দি, যন্ত্রের মায়ায় বন্দী প্রেম। আমরা যান্ত্রিক হাসিতে আবৃত, অথচ অন্তরে ফাঁপা বেলুনের মতো। প্রেম সেখানে ছেঁড়া কাগজের মতো উড়ে বেড়ায়।
কী আশ্চর্য! আমরা প্রেমের কথা বলি, অথচ ভালোবাসার ভাষা ভুলে গেছি। আমাদের দৃষ্টিতে অবিশ্বাস, করতলে স্বার্থ, কণ্ঠে প্রতারণার গান।

তৃতীয় নয়নের আলোয় দেখা যায়, এক আকাশ যেখানে গ্রহেরা কাঁদছে। মানুষের অবিশ্বাস, হিংসা ও লোভে কাঁপছে এই নীল গ্রহ। সেখানে প্রেম মৃত, করুণায় কাঙাল।
তবে শেষ হয়নি সব, কারণ বালকের চোখে এখনো জ্বলছে আগুন।

সময়ের শরীর ক্ষয়ে যাচ্ছে, দাগ পড়ছে মুহূর্তে মুহূর্তে। পাথরের শহরে পাথরের মানুষ গড়ে উঠছে।
কিন্তু কে যেন, এক অদৃশ্য কারিগর, তুলিতে রঙ মেখে এঁকে চলেছে ভিন্ন এক দৃশ্যপট। সেখানে মানুষ অদ্ভুত রকম স্বচ্ছ, যেমন নদীর জল, যেমন শিশুর হাসি।

তৃতীয় নয়ন খুললে দেখা যায়, এই মানুষরূপী রক্তমাংসের খোলস ভেঙে বেরিয়ে আসছে এক আলোমানব। সে হেঁটে চলে শব্দহীন ভাষায়, তার শরীরে ছুঁয়ে যায় প্রেমের রেণু।

সে জানে না রাষ্ট্র কী, ধর্ম কী, জাত কী। সে জানে শুধু মন, ভালোবাসা, কান্না, ছোঁয়া, বৃষ্টি, হাসি, দুঃখ।
তার জন্য মানবতা কোনো তত্ত্ব নয়, বরং প্রতিদিনকার রুটির মতো প্রয়োজন।

প্রেম—এখন আর শুধু হৃদয়ের মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ নয়। প্রেম এখন বাতাসে, ঘুমে, মৃত মানুষের স্বপ্নে, নিঃশব্দ শব্দে।
তৃতীয় নয়ন খোলে দিলে বোঝা যায়, প্রেম আসলে এক সত্তা—যে জন্ম নেয় দুঃখে, বেড়ে ওঠে আত্মত্যাগে, এবং প্রস্ফুটিত হয় নিঃস্বার্থতায়।

মানব প্রেম এক পরাবাস্তবতা, কারণ এ প্রেম বেছে নেয় না, প্রশ্ন তোলে না, দাবি করে না।
এই প্রেম এক গন্ধহীন ফুল, যার সৌরভ চেতনায়। এক সুরহীন সঙ্গীত, যা বাজে হৃদয়ের গহিনে।

তৃতীয় নয়নের আলোয় দেখা যায়, প্রেম আসলে এক আয়না—যেখানে প্রতিফলিত হয় নিজেকে ভালোবাসার স্পৃহা।
এই প্রেমে নেই সংকোচ, নেই শর্ত। শুধু একটি কথা থাকে—“তুমি আছো, তাই আমি আছি।”

যেখানে বোমা বিস্ফোরিত হয় না, সেখানে কবিতা জন্মায়। যেখানে বিদ্বেষ নেই, সেখানে শিশুরা খেলে রঙের দেশে।
যে সমাজ তৃতীয় নয়নে পৃথিবী দেখে, সে আর যুদ্ধ চায় না, সে চায় আলো, জল, গান ও গাছ।

এই সভ্যতার নাম—মানব সভ্যতা।
যেখানে মানুষ আর কেবল মানুষ নয়—সে এক কবিতা, এক বৃক্ষ, এক মেঘ, এক নদী, এক স্বপ্ন।

মানুষ সেখানে ঝড়ের দিনে আশ্রয়, শীতের রাতে আগুন, অন্ধকারে প্রদীপ।
মানুষ সেখানে আরেক মানুষের চোখে ঈশ্বরের প্রতিচ্ছবি।

এই পরাবাস্তব পৃথিবী আমাদের চেনা বাস্তবের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি সত্য।
কারণ এখানে সময় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে, ফুল কথা বলে, নদী হাসে, অশ্রু গান গায়।

এই সত্য কেউ মানে না, কারণ আমাদের চোখ এখনো বন্ধ। কিন্তু যে খুলে দেখেছে, তার আর ফিরে যাওয়া নেই।

তৃতীয় নয়ন একবার খুললে, জগৎ পালটে যায়।
মানুষ মানুষ হয়ে ওঠে। আর মানুষ হলে তবেই প্রেম সম্ভব।

প্রেম জাগলে, ঘৃণা নিঃশেষ হয়।
আর তখনই হয়তো সত্যি সত্যি বলা যাবে—

“আমি মানুষ, কারণ আমি ভালোবাসি।”

চোখের আলো দিয়ে নয়, হৃদয়ের আলো দিয়ে দেখো। তোমার তৃতীয় নয়ন খুলুক—আর তুমি হয়ে উঠো সেই মানুষ, যার জন্য পৃথিবী এখনো অপেক্ষা করে।

A powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake has struck Russia’s eastern Kamchatka Peninsula, triggering tsunami warnings across the Pacific region. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake was initially recorded at a magnitude of 8.7 but was later revised to 8.8.

The epicenter was located approximately 78 miles (126 kilometers) from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 18 kilometers beneath the Earth's surface. The tremor was so intense that it shook vast areas of Kamchatka and raised immediate concerns of a potential tsunami.

Sergey Lebedev, the regional minister for emergency situations in Russia, confirmed that the earthquake generated tsunami waves ranging from three to four meters high along the Kamchatka coastline.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have advised coastal residents to move to higher ground. Tsunami monitoring agencies around the world have increased surveillance of the Pacific Ocean basin in light of the threat.

Just hours after claiming that Sheikh Hasina and her associates had committed crimes in Bangladesh more horrific than those of the Pakistani military in 1971, legal adviser Asif Nazrul has expressed regret.

Earlier today (Tuesday), he made the remarks during a discussion and exhibition focused on the July uprising and the demand for justice for killings that took place during that time. His comments triggered a wave of criticism on social media.

According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, at least 112 people have been killed in Gaza over the past 24 hours. Since the beginning of the war, the total death toll has now exceeded 60,000.

Local hospitals report that many people were killed by Israeli airstrikes and gunfire while seeking humanitarian aid.

ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া পৌর শহরে দিন দিন বাড়তে থাকা যানজট জনজীবনে চরম ভোগান্তি সৃষ্টি করছে। বিশেষ করে কোর্ট রোড ও মসজিদ রোড এলাকায় যানচলাচল নিয়ন্ত্রণে ট্রাফিক বিভাগকে প্রতিনিয়ত হিমশিম খেতে হচ্ছে। ফলে সাধারণ মানুষ, পথচারী ও ব্যবসায়ীরা প্রতিদিনই দীর্ঘ সময় যানজটে আটকে থেকে দুর্ভোগ পোহাচ্ছেন।

এদিকে শহরের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এই এলাকাতেই আধুনিক কোনো গণশৌচাগার না থাকায় নারী, পুরুষ ও শিশু—সব শ্রেণীর মানুষের জন্য চরম অস্বস্তিকর পরিস্থিতির সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। দূর-দূরান্ত থেকে আসা ক্রেতা ও দর্শনার্থীদের শৌচকার্য সম্পাদনের জন্য উপযুক্ত স্থান না থাকায় তারা বড় ধরনের সমস্যার সম্মুখীন হচ্ছেন।

এই প্রেক্ষাপটে নাগরিক সমস্যা সমাধানে উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে নদী ও প্রকৃতি সুরক্ষা বিষয়ক সামাজিক সংগঠন ‘তরী বাংলাদেশ’। সংগঠনটি ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া পৌর প্রশাসকের কাছে লিখিত আবেদন জানিয়ে খালপাড় থেকে মসজিদ রোড পর্যন্ত একটি নতুন সংযোগ সড়ক এবং একটি আধুনিক গণশৌচাগার নির্মাণের দাবি জানিয়েছে।

আবেদনে উল্লেখ করা হয়, পৌর শহরের সদর মডেল থানার পূর্ব পাশে টাউনখাল থেকে মসজিদ রোড পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১৫ ফুট প্রশস্ত একটি সরকারি খাল ছিল, যা সময়ের ব্যবধানে ড্রেনে রূপান্তরিত হয়েছে।

এছাড়া ওই এলাকায় কিছু সরকারি খাস জমিও রয়েছে। সংশ্লিষ্ট জায়গাগুলো দখলমুক্ত করা গেলে ড্রেনের পাশাপাশি একটি নতুন সড়ক নির্মাণ এবং খাস জমিতে আধুনিক ওয়াশ ব্লক বা গণশৌচাগার স্থাপন করা সম্ভব, যা এই অঞ্চলের দীর্ঘদিনের নাগরিক সমস্যার কার্যকর সমাধান এনে দিতে পারে।

জনস্বার্থ বিবেচনায় বিষয়টি ইতিবাচকভাবে দেখার আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া পৌর প্রশাসক মো. শরিফুল ইসলাম। আবেদনটির অনুলিপি জেলা প্রশাসক, পুলিশ সুপার, সদর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা এবং সহকারী কমিশনার (ভূমি)-এর কাছেও পাঠানো হয়েছে।

এ বিষয়ে সংগঠনটির আহ্বায়ক শামীম আহমেদ জানান, এর আগে একাধিকবার বিভিন্ন জেলা প্রশাসক ও পৌরসভার দায়িত্বশীল কর্মকর্তাদের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করা হয়েছিল।

২০২৩ সালের শেষ দিকে তৎকালীন জেলা প্রশাসকের নির্দেশে সদর উপজেলার সহকারী কমিশনার (ভূমি) ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শনও করেন। তবে পরবর্তীতে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তাদের বদলি এবং অন্যান্য কারণে কার্যক্রমে অগ্রগতি থেমে যায়।

তিনি আরও বলেন, নতুন করে দেওয়া এই আবেদনটি গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে বিবেচনা করে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ দ্রুত কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ নেবে—এমনটাই প্রত্যাশা করছেন তারা।

Products Expo 2026 in Haikou was like stepping into the future.

As an attendee at one of the world’s
fastest-growing international trade exhibitions, I had the privilege of
experiencing firsthand the innovation, culture, and business energy that
defined this year’s expo. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was electric—thousands
of visitors, exhibitors, and investors from across the globe gathered under one
roof to explore the latest trends shaping the consumer market.

The expo was a true reflection of
how rapidly the world is changing. Everywhere I turned, there were displays of
cutting-edge technology, smart home devices, eco-friendly products, health
innovations, and luxury consumer goods. Businesses both large and small
showcased products designed to make life easier, smarter, and more sustainable.

One of the most impressive aspects
of the event was its international presence. National pavilions and global
brands from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas proudly displayed their
products and services, creating a unique environment for cultural exchange and
international business networking.

As I moved through the exhibition
halls, I was particularly drawn to the emphasis on sustainability and green
development. Many companies presented environmentally friendly packaging,
renewable energy solutions, and innovative products aimed at reducing waste and
promoting responsible consumption. It was inspiring to see businesses aligning
innovation with environmental responsibility.

Beyond the exhibitions, the expo

For me, attending these sessions was
both educational and eye-opening. The conversations highlighted how technology

competitive in the global marketplace.

Haikou itself added to the
experience. As the capital of Hainan and a rapidly growing Free Trade Port, the
city provided the perfect setting for an event centered on international trade
and innovation. Its development and strategic importance were evident
throughout the expo.

Personally, attending the
International Consumer Products Expo 2026 was more than just visiting an
exhibition, it was an opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired. I met
professionals from different industries, discovered innovative products, and

জামালপুর জেলায় নদী ও প্রকৃতি সুরক্ষা সামাজিক আন্দোলন তরী বাংলাদেশ এর সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রম তরান্বিত করার লক্ষ্যে শুক্রবার ২৪এপ্রিল ২০২৬ খ্রি. জামালপুর জেলা শহরে আলমগীর হোসেনের সভাপতিত্বে এবং শরীফ উদ্দিনের সঞ্চালনায় এক মতবিনিময় সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

উক্ত সভায় প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন 'তরী বাংলাদেশ'র কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির আহবায়ক শামীম আহমেদ এবং প্রধান আলোচক হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন 'তরী বাংলাদেশ' এর কেন্দ্রীয় আহবায়ক কমিটির সদস্য খালেদা মুন্নী।

উপর্যুক্ত সভায় সংগঠনের কার্যক্রম নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করেন 'তরী বাংলাদেশ' এর বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের নেতৃবৃন্দ।

জেলা সদস্যদের উপস্থিতিতে বক্তারা বলেন জামালপুর জেলাটি নদী, খাল, বিল, পাহাড়, টিলা বেষ্টিত প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের লীলাভূমি ও সম্ভাবনাময় পর্যটন এলাকা। কিন্তু দিনদিন নদ-নদী, খাল-বিল দখল-দূষণ-ভরাট, বালু উত্তোলন নির্বিচারে বৃক্ষ নিধন ও নদী ভরাটের ফলে প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশ বিনষ্ট হচ্ছে।

পরবর্তী প্রজন্মের জন্য বাসযোগ্য পৃথিবী বিনির্মানে জনসচেতনতা সৃষ্টির লক্ষ্যে 'তরী বাংলাদেশ' সারাদেশে যে কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করছে তা নিঃসন্দেহে প্রশংসনীয়।

আমরা জামালপুরবাসী তরী বাংলাদেশ এর আদর্শের সাথে একাত্মতা ঘোষণা করে নদী ও প্রকৃতি সুরক্ষায় সংগঠনের সাথে যুক্ত থেকে কাজ করবো।

সভা শেষে উপস্থিত সদস্যদের সম্মতিক্রমে জামালপুর জেলা কার্যকরী কমিটি গঠনের ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত গৃহীত হয়।

তারই প্রেক্ষিতে সভার সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী শরীফ উদ্দিনকে সভাপতি ও ইমরান আলম রোজকে সাধারণ সম্পাদক করে 'তরী বাংলাদেশ' জামালপুর জেলা শাখার কার্যকরী কমিটি ঘোষণা করা হয়।

উক্ত কার্যকরী কমিটি সাংগঠনিক নিয়ম অনুযায়ী আগামী একবছর পর্যন্ত বলবৎ থাকবে।

আজ ২ এপ্রিল ২০২৬ খ্রিষ্টাব্দ, বৃহস্পতিবার বেলা ১১ ঘটিকায় শহরের প্রেসক্লাব মিলনায়তনে আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে জেলার সাংবাদিক সমাজ ও বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ তাকে বিদায়ী অভিবাদন জানান।

ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া প্রেসক্লাবের সভাপতি জাভেদ রহিম বিজনের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত এই সভায় প্রেসক্লাবের সাধারণ সম্পাদক বাহারুল ইসলাম মোল্লা , সিনিয়র সহ-সভাপতি ইব্রাহিম খান সাদাত , মঞ্জরুল আলম ,দীপক চৌধুরী বাপ্পি ,অতিরিক্ত জেলা প্রশাসক সার্বিক রঞ্জুন কুমার দেসহ প্রেসক্লাবের কার্যকরী কমিটির সদস্যবৃন্দ এবং স্থানীয় সুধীজন উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

বক্তারা তাদের বক্তব্যে জেলা প্রশাসক হিসেবে শারমিন আক্তার জাহানের দায়িত্বশীলতা, সততা এবং জনবান্ধব প্রশাসনের প্রশংসা করেন।

বিশেষ করে জেলার আইন-শৃঙ্খলা রক্ষা, শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থার উন্নয়ন এবং সামাজিক সমস্যা নিরসনে তার বলিষ্ঠ ভূমিকার কথা কৃতজ্ঞতার সাথে স্মরণ করা হয়।

বক্তারা উল্লেখ করেন যে, তিনি কেবল একজন প্রশাসক হিসেবেই নয়, বরং একজন অভিভাবক হিসেবে ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার উন্নয়ন যাত্রায় নিজেকে সম্পৃক্ত করেছিলেন।

সংবর্ধনার জবাবে আবেগাপ্লুত কণ্ঠে জেলা প্রশাসক শারমিন আক্তার জাহান বলেন, "ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া জেলায় কাজ করার অভিজ্ঞতা আমার স্মৃতিতে চিরকাল অমলিন হয়ে থাকবে। এ জেলার মানুষ অত্যন্ত সচেতন এবং সংবেদনশীল।

তিনি আরো বলেন ,আমার দায়িত্ব পালনকালে ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার সাংবাদিক সমাজ যেভাবে গঠনমূলক সমালোচনা ও তথ্যের মাধ্যমে প্রশাসনকে সহযোগিতা করেছে, তা সত্যিই প্রশংসনীয়। আপনাদের সহযোগিতা ছাড়া এই স্বল্প সময়ে জেলার উন্নয়নে এত বড় পদক্ষেপগুলো বাস্তবায়ন করা সম্ভব হতো না।"

তিনি আরও উল্লেখ করেন যে, কর্মস্থল পরিবর্তন হলেও এ জেলার সাধারণ মানুষের প্রতি তার মমতা ও শুভকামনা সবসময় থাকবে।

অনুষ্ঠানের শেষ পর্যায়ে ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া প্রেসক্লাবের পক্ষ থেকে বিদায়ী জেলা প্রশাসককে সম্মাননা ক্রেস্ট ও বিশেষ উপহার সামগ্রী প্রদান করা হয়। প্রেসক্লাবের নেতৃবৃন্দ তার ভবিষ্যৎ কর্মজীবনের উত্তরোত্তর সাফল্য ও সুস্বাস্থ্য কামনা করেন।

এক অত্যন্ত সৌহার্দ্যপূর্ণ এবং বিষাদময় পরিবেশের মধ্য দিয়ে এই বিদায় অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপ্তি ঘটে।

ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার তিতাস নদীর তীরবর্তী জনপদে কচুরিপানার দীর্ঘদিনের পুঞ্জীভূত সমস্যা নিরসনে স্থানীয় এলাকাবাসীর উদ্যোগে এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

গতকাল (৩০ মার্চ ২০২৬) সোমবার বিকেলে শহরের ভাদুঘর বাজারে ভাদুঘরবাসী আয়োজিত এই সভায় তিতাস নদীর স্বাভাবিক স্রোতধারা বজায় রাখা এবং নৌ-চলাচল নির্বিঘ্ন করতে কচুরিপানা পরিষ্কারের প্রয়োজনীয়তা নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করা হয়।

ভাদুঘর ও সংলগ্ন এলাকার বাসিন্দাদের জন্য তিতাস নদীর এই কচুরিপানা বর্তমানে এক বড় দুর্ভোগে পরিণত হয়েছে, যা দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে এই অঞ্চলের কৃষি, মৎস্য সম্পদ এবং যাতায়াত ব্যবস্থাকে মারাত্মকভাবে ব্যাহত করছে।

সভায় বক্তারা ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে বলেন, এক সময়ের প্রমত্তা তিতাস আজ কচুরিপানার ঘন আস্তরণে ঢাকা পড়ে মৃতপ্রায় হয়ে পড়েছে। এর ফলে শুধু যে নৌকা চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে তা-ই নয়, বরং নদীর পূর্বপাড়ের বিস্তীর্ণ বিলের ফসলী জমি থেকে ধান কেটে নদী পেরিয়ে ফসল ঘরে তুলতে সমস্যা হচ্ছে। পচা কচুরিপানার দুর্গন্ধে তীরের পরিবেশও দূষিত হচ্ছে।

স্থানীয় জনসাধারণের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণে আয়োজিত এই সভায় উপস্থিত বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ জোর দিয়ে বলেন, সরকারি উদ্যোগের অপেক্ষায় না থেকে নাগরিক সচেতনতা ও সামষ্টিক প্রচেষ্টার মাধ্যমে এই সমস্যার সমাধান করতে হবে।

সভার শেষ পর্যায়ে তিতাস নদীকে কচুরিপানামুক্ত করতে একটি কার্যকর কর্মপরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয় এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষকে এই জনগুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়ে দ্রুত পদক্ষেপ নেওয়ার আহ্বান জানানো হয়। এসময় বক্তারা প্রশাসনের সার্বিক সহযোগিতা প্রাপ্তি নিশ্চিত করবেন বলে আশ্বস্ত করেন।

সভায় এম.বি. এ. মুছা আহমেদ এর সঞ্চালনায় অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতি ছিলেন বাজার কমিটির সভাপতি মো. অহিদ মিয়া। বক্তব্য রাখেন সাবেক পৌর মেয়র হাফিজুর রহমান মোল্লা কচি, জেলা বিএনপির সিনিয়র সহসভাপতি জহিরুল হক খোকন, তরী বাংলাদেশ এর আহবায়ক শামীম আহমেদ,এড. ইসহাক মিয়া, এড. ইয়াছিন মিয়া, আনোয়ার হোসেন, কাউসার ভুইয়া প্রমুখ।

সভায় কচুরিপানা অপসারণে কাউছার ভুইয়াকে আহবায়ক এবং মো. মুজিবুল হককে সদস্য সচিব করে একটি কমিটি গঠন করা হয় যা আজ থেকে কার্যক্রম শুরু করবে।

দেশব্যাপী খাল পুনঃখনন কর্মসূচির অংশ হিসেবে ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া জেলার বিজয়নগর উপজেলার পত্তন ইউনিয়নের বোয়ালিয়া খাল পুনঃখনন কার্যক্রম জোরদারভাবে এগিয়ে চলেছে।

গত ১৬ মার্চ ২০২৬ খ্রি. আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে শুরু হওয়া এই কর্মসূচি স্থানীয় কৃষি, পরিবেশ ও নৌ-যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থায় ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন আনবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় নদী ও প্রকৃতি সুরক্ষা সামাজিক আন্দোলন ‘তরী বাংলাদেশ’ খাল খনন কার্যক্রম সরেজমিনে পরিদর্শন করেছে।

পরিদর্শনকালে সংগঠনটির প্রতিনিধিরা খনন কাজের অগ্রগতি ঘুরে দেখেন এবং সংশ্লিষ্টদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করেন।

সরেজমিনে দেখা যায়, খালের যে অংশে উদ্বোধন করা হয়েছিল সেখানে ইতোমধ্যে পানি প্রবাহ শুরু হওয়ায় ওই অংশে আপাতত খনন কার্যক্রম বন্ধ রয়েছে।

তবে প্রকল্পের কাজ থেমে নেই; মধ্যগঙ্গা নদীর সংযোগস্থল থেকে নতুন করে খনন শুরু করে পশ্চিম দিকে অগ্রসর হচ্ছে। এতে বোঝা যায়, প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নে বিকল্প পরিকল্পনা অনুসরণ করা হচ্ছে যাতে কাজের গতি অব্যাহত থাকে।

তরী বাংলাদেশ মনে করে, বাংলাদেশ কৃষি উন্নয়ন কর্পোরেশন (বিএডিসি)-এর অধীনে পরিচালিত এই সেচ প্রকল্পটি সঠিক পরিকল্পনা ও তদারকির মাধ্যমে বাস্তবায়িত হলে এটি শুধু একটি খাল পুনঃখননেই সীমাবদ্ধ থাকবে না, বরং পুরো এলাকার কৃষি উৎপাদন, জলব্যবস্থাপনা এবং পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য রক্ষায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে।

বিশেষ করে বর্ষা মৌসুমে পানি নিষ্কাশন এবং শুষ্ক মৌসুমে সেচ সুবিধা নিশ্চিত করার ক্ষেত্রে এই খাল অত্যন্ত কার্যকর হয়ে উঠতে পারে।

তরী বাংলাদেশের আহবায়ক শামীম আহমেদ বলেন, “আমরা সরেজমিনে এসে খনন কাজের অগ্রগতি পর্যালোচনা করেছি। কিছু স্থানে পানি চলে আসার কারণে কাজ সাময়িকভাবে বন্ধ থাকলেও বিকল্পভাবে অন্য অংশে কাজ চলমান রয়েছে, যা ইতিবাচক দিক।

আমরা আশা করি, সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ ও ঠিকাদারি প্রতিষ্ঠান নির্ধারিত ওয়ার্ক অর্ডার অনুযায়ী যথাযথ মান বজায় রেখে পুরো কাজ সম্পন্ন করবে।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, “খাল পুনঃখননের মূল লক্ষ্য শুধু মাটি অপসারণ নয়, বরং একটি কার্যকর জলপ্রবাহ ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তোলা। তাই খননের গভীরতা, প্রস্থ এবং পানিপ্রবাহের ধারাবাহিকতা নিশ্চিত করা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। একই সঙ্গে কাজের স্বচ্ছতা ও জবাবদিহিতাও নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।”

তরী বাংলাদেশের সদস্য সোহেল রানা ভুইয়া জানান, “এই খালটি পুনঃখনন হলে এলাকার কৃষকরা সরাসরি উপকৃত হবেন। বর্তমানে অনেক জমি সেচের অভাবে পতিত থাকে, কিন্তু খালটি সচল হলে শুষ্ক মৌসুমেও সহজে পানি সরবরাহ সম্ভব হবে। পাশাপাশি নৌ-চলাচল চালু হলে স্থানীয় যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থাও উন্নত হবে।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, “আমরা চাই কাজের গুণগত মানের কোনো ধরনের ব্যত্যয় না ঘটে। অনেক সময় দেখা যায় খনন কাজ শেষ হওয়ার পর অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই আবার ভরাট হয়ে যায়। তাই খননের পাশাপাশি নিয়মিত রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ এবং স্থানীয় জনগণের সম্পৃক্ততা নিশ্চিত করা জরুরি।”

স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারাও এই প্রকল্প নিয়ে আশাবাদী। তাদের মতে, দীর্ঘদিন ধরে অবহেলিত বোয়ালিয়া খালটি পুনঃখননের মাধ্যমে আবারও প্রাণ ফিরে পেতে পারে। এতে করে একদিকে যেমন কৃষি উৎপাদন বাড়বে, অন্যদিকে জলাবদ্ধতা কমে পরিবেশের ভারসাম্যও রক্ষা পাবে।

সার্বিকভাবে, বোয়ালিয়া খাল পুনঃখনন প্রকল্পটি সফলভাবে বাস্তবায়িত হলে এটি বিজয়নগর উপজেলার একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ জলপথ ও সেচ ব্যবস্থায় পরিণত হবে।

এখন দেখার বিষয়, সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ কতটা দক্ষতা ও স্বচ্ছতার সঙ্গে এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রকল্পটি সম্পন্ন করতে পারে এবং স্থানীয় মানুষের প্রত্যাশা কতটা পূরণ হয়।
